It is now the growing season and the time to get out and clean and beautify our yards and porches. The city of Porterdale has pledged to enforce the codes with regards to cleaning up the city for the mutual enjoyment of all its citizens and guests. With this in mind, I would like to make you aware of the codes that are important at this time.

  1. Premises and exterior property shall be maintained and free of grass, weeds or uncultivated vegetation in excess of 12 inches in height.
  2. Junk and abandoned vehicles shall not be kept, permitted, parked, stored or maintained on any premises or public street unless in an enclosed building or with an approved auto makers car cover while the owner is reconditioning the vehicle for personal use.
  3. Fences and walls shall be maintained in a structurally sound condition and in good repair. Every exterior wall shall be free of holes and breaks that may admit rain or dampness to the interior.
  4. Exterior wood surfaces should be protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment.
  5. Roofs shall be structurally sound and maintained to prevent rain and dampness to the interior.
  6. All windows must be glazed and operable. Doors must be maintained with operable hardware and in good condition.
  7. All stairs and porches and railings shall be structurally sound and maintained according to code.
Thank you for your cooperation and call me if I can be of assistance. Lets bring back the pride in Porterdale. Please bring your property into compliance and I will be seeing you in the neighborhood.
