The City of Porterdale is so proud to announce we have been selected for the location of the 2010 Community Garden for the entire Newton County community.  This is such a spectacular opportunity for our city and its residents.  We need your help to spread the word of our new venture.

The tentative plans are as follows:
Description:  70+ raised beds in a secured location.
Location:  property adjacent to the Porterdale City Hall  2200 Main St., Porterdale, 30070
Sponsors:  Master Gardeners, Newton Co. Extension Service, Hands on Newton
Work day:  Monday, Jan18th, Martin Luther King Holiday 9:00am till 3:00pm

Now, the next step is to contact Ted Wynne, Newton County Extension Coordinator, to express your interest in the garden.  From what I understand, there will be a small annual fee to lease a raised bed. Remember there is very limited space and I know they will go very quick.  You can contact Mr. Wynne at 770-784-2010 or email him at twynne@uga.edu
