PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The City of Porterdale has tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes of 8.07 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to attend the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at:
Porterdale City Hall
2800 Main Street
Porterdale, Georgia
The public hearings will be conducted on the following dates and times:
- July 28, 2026, at 6:30 PM – Special Called Meeting
- August 3, 2026, at 9:00 AM
- August 3, 2026, at 6:30 PM
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 14.899 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 13.786 mills.
The proposed tax increase for a residence with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $77.91 annually.
The proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $225,000 is approximately $100.17 annually.
All interested citizens are encouraged to attend these public hearings and provide comments regarding the proposed property tax increase.
